About

An avid student of theater and the arts, Gavin Kresser has immersed himself in stories his whole life, from page, to stage, to screen. Starting theater in middle school, Gavin was raised on stage, learning how to move, comedic timing, presentation, and many more techniques of the stage. In drama, Gavin discovered his love for bringing stories to life, and he chased that love to improv, joining Palos Verdes High School’s ComedySportz team. On ComedySportz, Gavin got the chance to explore his creativity, playing around with premises, spacework, and character-building. ComedySportz gave Gavin a greater opportunity though when in his Junior Year, he was asked to help write, direct, and star in a series of promotional videos for upcoming ComedySportz matches. Pitching silly ideas, putting together a script, organizing production, and then filming and editing everything with his friends, Gavin took his first step into the filmmaking world, and it felt amazing. In his junior year, Gavin helped create 6 more promos, and during his senior year, he spearheaded production of 5 more. Watching bits and ideas made between him and his friends take shape and come to life on screen was a magic like no other, and it was a magic Gavin was determined to chase. In addition to his senior year theatrical pursuits, like directing a student-run play, and playing parts like Nick Bottom in “Something Rotten!,” Gavin continued his personal filmmaking journey by writing and directing his first short film, “Rise ‘n Shine.” Now, after graduating from PV High in 2024, Gavin has continued to equip himself with further writing and comedy training, studying at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade (UCB) and working as a professional actor, as well as working on various speculative short film scripts.
